jan diamondstone

treasurer

Jan started her career developing media-based educational materials for a research foundation in Michigan. She then formed her own company to ride the technology wave, developing custom interactive multimedia training, marketing, and performance support programs for Fortune 100 companies in diverse industries.  She is most proud of interactive installations at several Smithsonian museums.

As owner and lead designer, she inevitably developed technical skills spanning computer programming, digital video, audio and graphics production, finance, accounting, data analysis, etc.

She continued to apply these skills in the keys as treasurer and board member of the Sugarloaf Shores Property Owners Association and as part of coalitions working to ensure a deep well for the Cudjoe Regional Waste Management System and to ensure current guardrails limiting ROGO allocations.  In both cases, she actively participated in ensuing litigation.

Jan is passionate about overdevelopment in the keys and government mismanagement. One small success: preventing abusive financing terms for lower-income residents on sewer hookup assessments.  She looks forward to producing more ammunition for Last Stand’s laudable advocacy.

She has a mid-life MBA from the University of Michigan, an MS from Boston University, and a BA (French Lit) from Brandeis.
