RE:  Little Palm Dolphin Resort, Little Torch Key - Request for Major Conditional Use

        Permit

Dear Ms. Schemper,

Last Stand has been following the application process of Little Palm Dolphin Resort for a Major Conditional Use (MCU) permit and has a procedural concern.

At the Community Meeting of August 2, 2023, a Staff member stated the next step in the review process for this MCU request would be before the Planning Commission on September 27.  As past procedures of this type would go before the Development Review Committee (DRC) after a Community Meeting, we are unsure why this step appears not to be planned.

We would appreciate learning from you what the next step will be for Little Palm Dolphin Resort’s request for an MCU.  If not the DRC, please help us understand what is different in this instance.

We believe opportunities for public input are critical to ensuring the Year 2030 Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Land Development Code, and Livable Communi-Keys Plans are followed.  Therefore, the apparent procedural omission stated above is a concern.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

For the Last Stand Board,

Ann Olsen, President
