After graduating from Santa Clara University, Alicia moved full time to the Florida Keys in 2019 to work in coral restoration. During her time at Mote Marine Laboratory, Alicia worked as a Staff Biologist in the Coral Restoration and Grazers programs, coordinated administration and housing, and worked with the media and public to share Mote’s research. You can see her on shows like Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom and read her publications in Peer J, Coral Reefs, and Frontiers in Marine Science. Alicia has continued to give back to her community by working as a Community Coordinator and Restoration Coordinator for Coastlove, an Education Manager at the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden, and as a Program Manager at Reef Relief. As a board member of Keys Last Stand, Alicia continues to protect the natural environment while balancing the needs of the local community. Alicia is a yoga teacher and lives in Old Town with her two cats, Milk and Beans.
